Work Environment

At Nordita, a good work environment is an essential part of everyday life. In line with Swedish regulations, the institute works systematically to support a workplace that is safe, respectful, and sustainable, and where employees can raise concerns and contribute to continuous improvement.

A good work environment is a shared responsibility at Nordita. In accordance with Swedish regulations, the institute works systematically to maintain and improve the physical, social, and organisational work environment for all employees.

This work is coordinated through the Nordita Work Environment Committee, which meets four times a year. The committee works with the Nordita Work Environment Action Plan, where work environment issues are reviewed, discussed, and addressed as they arise. Employees who would like the committee to consider a specific matter are encouraged to contact one of the work environment representatives.

The committee is coordinated by Marie Hjeltman and includes Elizabeth Yang, Head of Administration, together with Nordita’s work environment representatives.

Nordita’s work environment representatives support employees in matters related to the physical, social, and psychological work environment. They act as the voice of employees within the Work Environment Committee and help ensure that relevant issues are brought forward and followed up. The current work environment representatives are Ralf Eichhorn and Sofia Qvarfort.

Employees are welcome to contact them with questions, concerns, or suggestions related to the work environment.

For matters related specifically to equality, diversity, and inclusion, please see Nordita’s EDI page.

Funding and Support

Nordita is funded through support from the Swedish Research Council and its three host universities: KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University, and Uppsala University. Together, these institutions provide the foundation for Nordita’s research environment and its mission to advance theoretical physics through Nordic and international collaboration.
