About
Nishant Singh did his PhD at Raman Research Institute under the JAP program of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He worked with Prof. S. Sridhar (RRI) on the dynamo action due to non-helical turbulence in the presence of shear. He then moved to the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, Pune, as a postdoctoral fellow, where he worked on the problem of galaxy formation with Prof. K. Subramanian and Prof. R. Srianand.
Nishant joined Nordita in October 2013 as a postdoctoral fellow. He has already registered a Nordita preprint (2013-86) on the time variability of the viscosity parameter in differentially rotating discs. Currently, he is working on helioseismology and studies the forced excitation of various waves in stably stratified media in the presence of a magnetic field.
