About

Jennifer Schober received her Ph.D. from Heidelberg University in 2014. She moved to Stockholm in 2015 as a Nordita fellow.

The focus of Jennifer's research is the origin of cosmic magnetic fields and their impact on astrophysical processes. For this she models the amplification of weak seed fields by the small-scale turbulent dynamo. She works on the theoretical description of magnetic field evolution for different astrophysical environments, in particular for different types of turbulence and different plasma parameters. In the past, Jennifer was applying these theoretical models to the epochs of primordial star formation and galaxy formation. Recently, she became also interested in studying observational signatures of magnetohydrodynamical dynamos and cosmic magnetic fields.
