Illa R. Losada received her masters degree at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC). She started her PhD studies in January 2013 to work within the VR-supported project on the "Formation of active regions in the Sun". The goal of this project is to develop the foundations of a radically new suggestion for the formation of active regions in the Sun. Active regions are magnetic flux concentrations, out of which sunspots form during the lifetime of a region.
