About

Christian Marboe received his PhD degree from Trinity College Dublin in 2017. During his studies, he spent one year at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin as a fellow within the GATIS network.

His research has so far been focused on integrable structures within the AdS/CFT correspondence, in particular in the spectrum of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory. He has worked on computational applications of the so-called Quantum Spectral Curve, a mathematical structure that encodes the non-perturbative spectrum of this theory. This work includes designing efficient computer algorithms to do high-order perturbation theory, as well as to solve the algebraic equations that determine the spectrum of spin chains. Representation theory of non-compact super Lie algebras plays a key role in this work.

The main goal of Christian's research is to gain a deeper understanding of the mysterious appearance of integrability in higher-dimensional quantum field theories. Eventually, the hope is to generalise some of the powerful integrability tools to theories that describe Nature.
