About
Arianna Bottinelli earned her PhD in applied mathematics at Uppsala University in 2016 and is a 2017 postdoctoral fellow at Nordita. Here, she conducts theoretical and experimental research on the physics of high-density crowds. In particular, she takes inspiration from diverse fields of physics - condensed matter, granular media, active matter, complex networks - to develop new methods to understand, predict, and prevent the emergence of crowd disasters.
