About
Dhrubaditya Mitra received his PhD from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore India in the year 2005. He spent two years in Observatoire de Nice and three years in Queen Mary College, University of London as postdoc. He started as an assistant professor at Nordita in 2010.
Although his research interests are widespread, developing a deeper understanding of nonlinear non-equilibrium problems is the loadstone of his research. He has worked on a wide range of topics including, turbulence, astrophysical magneto-hydrodynanics, complex fluids, and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics. At present, his particular interest is field theories of nonlinear systems, structures in complex fluids, and membrane biophysics.
In Nordita he belongs to two groups: soft-matter and astrophysics. Outside Nordita he collaborates with researchers in Sweden (KTH, Stockholm University, Uppsala University), India (IIT-Bombay, TIFR-Hyderabad, IISc) and Japan (Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology).
