Last week, a team from Nordita had the privilege of being invited to the Tsung Dao Lee Institute (TDLI) in Shanghai, as part of a continuation of our long-standing collaboration. Our relationship with TDLI is productive, motivated by our shared research interests and, of course, our connection with Nobel laureate Frank Wilczek, who is the founding director of TDLI.
During the three-day long visit, the team consisting of Mikael Fogelström (director), Axel Brandenburg (vice director), Elizabeth Yang (head of administration), Watse Sybesma (assistant professor) and Soon Hoe Lim (assistant professor) had the opportunity to meet the local management and researchers. The team held seminars to the TDLI faculty and opportunities for collaboration were explored. Visiting local sites of interest such as the TDLI laboratories, the Wilczek quantum center, the School of Physics and Astronomy at Shanghai Jiaotong University as well as the Shanghai Control Center for Quantum Secure Communications institute, was also part of the busy and interesting agenda.
A highlight of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Nordita and TDLI. “Now the framework is in place and the next step will be finding concrete ways of collaborating and continuing our exchange. I strongly encourage our researchers to take individual initiatives and start building these connections,” says Nordita director Mikael Fogelström.
We’re looking forward to continuing our collaboration with TDLI and working together on joint research initiatives to make a meaningful contribution to the global scientific community.
