Last week at Nordita, we hosted the inaugural workshop of the EmerGe collaboration, bringing together researchers to discuss emergent geometric structures in theoretical physics.
“This isn't a standard physics conference; it’s a space for 'slow science' and deep questions. Uniquely, about a third of our participants are philosophers, which changes the entire conversation — we are building a rare dialogue that treats the emergence of spacetime as both a mathematical puzzle and a profound conceptual shift,” says Guilherme Franzmann, one of the organizers.
The five-day program included invited talks, contributed presentations, a poster session, and plenty of time for discussions, both inside and outside the formal sessions.
Below are photos from the poster session and a group photo.
